Ellwood W. Mutschler, Jr., known fondly as "Woody," age 68, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2016.

Woody was born in Wilmington, DE on July 10, 1947, and was a son of the late Ellwood W. and Irma (Banks) Mutschler. He was a graduate of Brandywine High School and later graduated from Goldey-Beacom College and Drexel University. A career accountant, Woody worked with QPS in Newark until his retirement in 2015. Previously, he was employed by Storm's Shoes and later owned Concord Pet.

An avid sports fan, Woody looked forward to cheering on the Philadelphia teams each season and was a University of Delaware Football season ticket holder for over 40 years. In his leisure time, he enjoyed reading, playing softball with the New Castle Senior Center team and bowling. Woody will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon (Wolf) Mutschler; children, Brian Mutschler of Wilmington, DE, Robin Autry of Fayettville, NC, Kevin Mutschler of Newark, DE and Allison Brown of Newark, DE; brother, Larry Mutschler of Chadds Ford, PA; sister, Sharon Crawford of Aston, PA; and 9 grandchildren.
